For complex and multi-team procedures, uplift applications to insurers may need to be considered, and rarely a balance bill may be required. For self-pay procedures, fees need to be agreed prior to surgery.
Follow-up telephone consults may be arranged for patients with BUPA, Aviva Insurance, and when self-funding.

Please note that each facility may charge fees independent of the consultant fees. It is important to note that self-pay patients may need to pay fees to the hospital or clinic, and other specialists involved in care (including Anaesthesia, Radiology and Pathology), in addition to the fees paid to Mr Smith. This may cause confusion, as the fees are billed separately.
Self-pay fees are available on request.
PHIN
Mr Smith engages with the PHIN process and is one of the first UK consultants to provide data. At present the data does not accurately capture or reflect Mr Smiths’ practice, however, PHIN and the hospital providers are working to improve the data for patients.
